The Voltman team visits the Clarios plant

Clarios is a world leader in energy storage solutions. The plant in Česká Lípa produces around 12 million batteries a year and is fully self-sufficient in metal and plastic components. Clarios products are supplied to leading carmakers including Toyota, Volkswagen and Hyundai-KIA, and to heavy equipment manufacturers John Deere, Caterpillar and DAF. Most of the output goes to the aftermarket, to millions of drivers in more than 100 countries.

During the presentation of the plant and the corporation, the director of the Clarios plant in Česká Lípa, Roman Stehlík, said:
"Sustainability and responsibility are an inseparable part of every Clarios product and every production process. Our plant constantly looks for new ways to raise quality and reduce environmental impact, finding the balance between performance and efficiency. We work directly with the world's leading carmakers to improve our products, and we also receive valuable feedback from millions of end users."

In turn, the new general director of the Alatau company, Anuar Seitkazy, noted:
"Our visit to Czechia confirmed the high level of trust and partnership between Voltman and Clarios built up over many years of cooperation. We are confident that, despite changes in market conditions, Clarios products will remain available to the widest range of customers across our network in Kazakhstan."

The visitors were able to judge the quality of Clarios batteries again the next day at the largest race in Europe, the FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC), held at the legendary circuit in Most. The racing of multi-tonne trucks was not only a spectacular sporting event but also a clear demonstration of the reliability of the plant products. Clarios is the title sponsor and official battery supplier of T Sport Bernau, one of the leading teams in the championship.

The Voltman representatives saw for themselves that the huge racing truck runs on series-production 60 Ah Varta AGM batteries, which withstand the extreme loads of the track year after year.

"At T Sport Bernau we constantly upgrade and renew the technical equipment of our truck, because the demands of racing grow every season. But we stay loyal to Varta batteries, which take enormous loads and show absolute reliability even in the most extreme conditions," said Tim Frost, technical manager and chief mechanic of the team.

A special moment came when Tim Frost mentioned the Kazakhstan team Astana Motorsports and its driver Artur Ardavichus, who took part in the legendary Dakar rally raid. It was good to realise that Kazakhstan has left a visible mark in the history of world motorsport.

Voltman thanks the Clarios corporation for organising the visit and sees it as an important step in strengthening the partnership. The established cooperation opens new opportunities for developing the battery business in Kazakhstan. This was the second visit of the Voltman team to the plant in Czechia — the first took place in December 2017 — and we were glad to return and see the changes made at the plant over the past seven years.

Today Clarios ranks first in the world in starter battery production, making more than 150 million batteries a year. Its products are sold in over 100 countries and its revenue exceeded 10 billion US dollars in 2024. The key production sites are in Germany, Czechia and Spain.

Clarios produces well-known brands such as Varta and Energizer, valued by carmakers and drivers alike for quality and technology. The unique advantage of the corporation is its complete production cycle: from research and development through component manufacturing, assembly and charging to battery recycling.
